Welcome To Polo Pathways

At Polo Pathways, we're redefining how players and coaches enter and grow within the sport of polo in Australia. Founded by Tommy Martin and Katie Edmeades, their mission is to make polo more accessible, professional and sustainable. Through expert coaching, structured development, mentoring programs and community collaboration, they will create clear pathways for players of all levels and support the next generation of accredited coaches.

Whether you're new to the sport or looking to grow your polo career, Polo Pathways is here to assist and support your journey.

Who We Are

Polo Pathways has been established to be a fresh take in “the learn to play” space by collaboratively engaging with existing service providers within the polo community.

The collaborative structure makes use of local coaches, horses and venues allowing this principle to be replicated interstate.

Polo Pathways aims to introduce new players to the sport of polo through high-level coaching, creating a pathway for the assessment and accreditation of Australian coaches.

By utilising their extensive community networks, Polo Pathways intends to offer a safe, accessible and efficient way for individuals of all skill levels to learn polo - with an emphasis on long-term development for players and coaches.

The Collaboration

Tommy and Katie have worked alongside each other for years in various capacities. Having recently worked  on the management team for the Women's World Cup, that they decided to join forces to address what they perceive as a significant gap in player development in Australia.

Katie brings exciting insights, having gained invaluable experience by benefiting firsthand from the UK's systems which have excellent structures, programs  and opportunities for their players. This aligns well with the work Tommy does with young players and his position as a Director on the NSWPA board.

They share a passion for education and both have a deep understanding of the game and how important it is to support and protect the professional players and service providers in the sport.
